A Visitors' Guide to the LNER Stadium Lincoln

This guide has been produced with input from The Red Imps Community Trust

LNER Stadium

The LNER Stadium (commonly known as Sincil Bank) is a 20 minute walk from the City centre.

Away fans are located in the Stacey West stand, which is named after lifelong Lincoln City supporters Bill Stacey and Jim West, who sadly lost their lives during the Bradford City stadium fire in 1985 when Lincoln were the visitors.

Trains

Lincoln Central Railway Station is a 10 minute walk from the LNER Stadium - take the footbridge directly from the right when you leave the station then just follow the Sincil Bank waterway south until you reach the ground. If you need a drink then turn left when you leave the station and walk towards St Mary’s church and then into the High Street where there are numerous pubs on the way to the ground.

The last train back to London leaves at 22:33 with a change at Newark Northgate arriving at Kings Cross at 01:15. Most of the home fans that travel by train get the Leicester or Grimsby trains so the shuttle to Newark is less crowded. At Newark Northgate just cross to the other side of the platform for the Kings Cross train.

Parking

There is NO street parking anywhere near the ground. The residents only parking has also been extended very recently, so beware if you have been before or read from out of date sources about street parking. Make sure you check before parking on any street.

The best place to park is the South Common Car Park (LN5 8LN) which is a 5-10 minute walk to the stadium. You need to book in advance to guarantee a space and can be booked online via eticketing.co.uk/imps at £5 per match - parking is an option on the drop down for our cup match.

The City of Lincoln Council provides discounted matchday parking at some of their car parks as follows:

There are 380 parking spaces at Tentercroft Street (LN5 7DB), 420 at Lucy Tower (LN1 1XL) and 45 at Chaplin Street (LN5 7BN) which all have a discount for this midweek fixture.

  • Discounted evening tariff is only after 6:00pm

  • 50% reduction on price (typical full cost is £3.50 - so cost would be £1.75)

  • Pay-by-Phone using a special four-digit number to obtain the discount - do not use the one on the boards

  • The Pay-by codes are:
    Chaplin Street - 7854
    Tentercroft St - 7840
    Lucy Tower Street - 7852

which are all available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Food and Drink

The University of Lincoln Fan Village, situated behind the Rilmac Stand, (the other end to the Stacey West stand), is free to all and gives both home and away fans the chance to purchase food and drink from 16:45 onwards. The Barbell Burger van and Curry Jacks there are very recommended. There is also a variety of entertainment on offer, including live football and music. Cash and card payments are accepted in the Fan Village, but it is cash only in the away section inside the stadium.

Many pubs welcome both home and away fans, although the nearer you get to the ground they will probably be home only. The Square Sail (Wetherspoons) on Brayford Wharf is mainly away fans and The Ritz (Wetherpoons) on The High Street should welcome away fans.

Back of the Net is a recommended fish and chip shop which is just one block from the away supporters entrance.
