Metropolitan Police Turnaround Plan
At the latest Metropolitan Police Independent Advisory Group for football supporters, one of the agenda items WHUST raised, was the Turnaround Plan from Sir Mark Rowley; the current Met Commissioner.
The aim of the Turnaround Plan is to listen and rebuild trust within communities. There are nine key priorities identified in the plan. The Metropolitan Police survey asks for feedback on the general direction of the plan itself. The last question allows you to put what you would like to see improve/your ideas and priorities. Though this plan is not specifically aimed at football supporters, WHUST made the point that football supporters make up a significant ‘community’ across London that experience policing for every game attended. Further we were clear that each football supporter comes from their own communities, so will have a view and opinion on the Police and policing they experience.
The Metropolitan Police representatives present at the meeting thanked WHUST for bringing the Turnaround Plan to everyone’s attention and encouraged wider sharing and completion of the survey. We have until mid April to complete the survey.
The link below will take you to the Met Police Turnaround Plan and the survey. This is our chance to make our views clear to the Metropolitan Police, it’s our chance to help shape the sort of policing we want to experience.
