Statement
It is with the utmost regret and shame that WHUISA saw reports of the footage of West Ham supporters singing a song containing anti-Semitic language directed at a Jewish passenger on a plane.
We are pleased that the Club have responded swiftly to this and that they are in contact with the airline and relevant authorities to identify the individuals concerned. We know that West Ham have a zero-tolerance approach to any form of discrimination.
When West Ham fans travel to an away match, they are ambassadors for our club and other West Ham supporters. This behaviour brings the Club and its fans into disrepute.
Racism and discrimination in any form must have strong consequences. We would support indefinite bans for the supporters involved as well as any kind of restorative education or programme supported by the Club and Kick It Out.
