WHUST on the radio
After last night’s win against Arsenal, WHUST Interim Chair Terry Reynolds was interviewed today by BBC Radio Five Live and BBC Radio Scotland.
You can listen to the interviews below.
It was an early start for Terry when he was interviewed by Eleanor Oldroyd and Gordon Smart on the 5 Live Breakfast Show.
Gordon said “33 points at this stage of the season - Terry had I said that at the start of the season you would have been delighted”. Terry said that it’s not just this season - we have had a terrific year with a first trophy in years, some fantastic experiences along the way and now beating both those North London teams at their place.
Terry commented on why David Moyes with only 6 months left on his contract had not been offered a new deal. When asked what the supporters thought about Declan Rice last night, Terry responded about Agent Rice and the chant “you should have signed for a big club”.
“Slightly exasperated” Arsenal supporter Charlene Smith also put her point of view across about the match.
David Curry of BBC Radio Scotland’s Lunchtime Live was interested in Terry’s opinion about David Moyes. David remembered when English football had a healthy smattering of Scottish managers and these days in the Premier League there’s only one - David Moyes. This also coincided with the 4th anniversary of Moyes’ return as manager of West Ham.
Terry talked about it perhaps being the best 4 years since the 1960s - since we won the FA Cup, the Cup Winners Cup and the World Cup! He ran through the achievements of the last 4 years when Moyes inherited a dysfunctional backroom staff through European participation to the current best points total at this stage of the season.
Should Moyes stay and does last night’s win make it inevitable that he will be offered a new deal? Terry cited that you don’t make the decision on the results of one result as it could have been a different decision after the Liverpool match.
